A fire at a Starlink satellite station in central Poland was a deliberate \u201cact of sabotage,\u201d the government said Thursday, the BBC reported.<\/p>\n
Polish Deputy Prime Minister Krzysztof Gawkowski said the blaze in Wola Krobowska in the Masovian Voivodeship was \u201cdeliberately designed to disable the station\u2026 disrupting internet access for various institutions, including the Ukrainian army.\u201d He told public broadcaster TVP Info an investigation was ongoing but \u201cmany indications suggest\u201d the attack fits a \u201cnew Russian doctrine of attack.\u201d The Kremlin has not commented. Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he disliked labeling sabotage without \u201c100% certainty, but it looks bad.\u201d The state-owned station \u2014 which routes internet traffic through Poland to countries including Ukraine using SpaceX Starlink systems \u2014 remains operational. On Wednesday Poland also said a Russian military helicopter briefly violated its airspace, forcing fighter jets to scramble.<\/p>\n
Denmark\u2019s intelligence service issued a new threat assessment expecting Russia to escalate hybrid warfare in coming months, calling a conventional attack \u201chighly unlikely\u201d but warning of \u201ca low but growing risk\u201d of a limited military strike on NATO countries. Overnight into Thursday, Russian strikes killed at least eight civilians in Ukraine, with the worst hits on Kharkiv and Kyiv; Moldova and Romania reported drone airspace violations.<\/p>\n
