President Donald Trump told reporters Wednesday he would decide <strong>\u201cvery soon\u201d<\/strong> whether to <strong>\u201cblow up\u201d<\/strong> Iran \u2014 as Tehran said it had received Washington\u2019s formal reply to its proposal to end the seven-month war, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/news\/2026\/10\/01\/trump-threatens-to-blow-up-iran-as-deal-talks-stall\">Politico<\/a> reported.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to make that decision: We blow them up or make a deal,\u201d Trump said. Asked how he planned to negotiate with Iranian officials, he answered: <strong>\u201cMaybe you blow them up.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Iran\u2019s plan, floated during last week\u2019s U.N. General Assembly, called for reopening the <strong>Strait of Hormuz within a week<\/strong> and restarting nuclear talks. In return, Tehran wanted the U.S. to lift its naval blockade of Iranian ports, waive sanctions on Iranian oil sales, release frozen Iranian assets, and accept a ceasefire on all fronts.<\/p>\n<p>Trump publicly rejected that package Saturday, saying Iran wanted a deal because it was <strong>\u201closing so badly\u201d<\/strong> \u2014 and that Tehran\u2019s terms would not be acceptable even if he still wants a deal of his own.
