The chatbot just got a makeover — and a promotion. OpenAI is rolling GPT-6 into ChatGPT for everybody, starting with Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users on Wednesday and expanding to Free and Go users starting Thursday, the company said in its announcement.
The headline trick is something OpenAI calls Intelligent UI. Instead of cramming every answer into paragraphs, the model can build replies out of graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts and interactive tools right in the chat. Plan a dinner party and you might get an interactive shopping table that scales with your guest count, Engadget reports. Need to split a bill? It can whip up a calculator. Bored? OpenAI says it can even recreate retro games like Snake.
It also talks faster. OpenAI says GPT-6 can start answering while it’s still thinking, composing a response across several messages that each add something — rather than going silent and then dumping the whole thing.
The fine print: paying tiers run on GPT-6 Sol; Free and Go users get GPT-6 Luna, which Engadget notes isn’t as capable. OpenAI pitches the new model at the more than 1.2 billion people it says use ChatGPT each week. Enterprise availability depends on admin settings, and per OpenAI’s help page, the older ChatGPT desktop apps for Mac and Windows don’t support the new interface — use the web.
Translation: the chat box is turning into an app factory. Whether you wanted your chatbot to start handing you forms to fill out is another question.
