Apple’s first foldable isn’t even in preorder yet — and an indie already cooked a killer demo. Preorders for the iPhone Duo start later in October. Developer Vidit Bhargava showed off Duo-Man: a virtual Walkman that uses the Duo’s 7.6-inch inner and 5.4-inch outer displays — open to pick and “insert” a cassette, close to listen, TechCrunch reported Sept. 28, 2026 (Sarah Perez).
He recorded real Walkman button clicks and static. The build took second place at the Bitrig hackathon (Bitrig = AI Swift native apps). His X post hit roughly 1.8 million views and about 10,000 likes — and he’s turning it into a real app.
Planned features: Apple Music plus local files; Apple Pencil to “roll” the cassette loop; Walkman-like fast-forward and rewind; Spotify maybe later. Not his first app — LookUp, Movie Buzz, and others are already on his résumé. Retro is having a moment. The Duo may ship with its first banger already queued.
