ChatGPT just stopped being a plain text box. OpenAI is rolling GPT‑6 Intelligent UI so answers can show up with interactive interfaces — graphics, tappable buttons, forms, charts, and mini-tools built right into the reply, OpenAI said Oct. 7, 2026.
Last month GPT‑6 hit paid tiers. Now the company says it’s bringing the next generation to 1.2 billion weekly ChatGPT users. The model can spin up tools in conversation — a calculator, a bill splitter, even a game — and it progressive-answers while it’s still thinking. Web search answers start 44% sooner on average than GPT‑5.6 Instant, OpenAI claimed.
Rollout calendar: Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise got it Oct. 7. Free and Go start the day after (Oct. 8). Paid users get GPT‑6 Sol; Free and Go get GPT‑6 Luna. The upgrade is on the Chat tab only — Work and Codex models stay unchanged.
That’s a whole UI layer landing inside the chat window for free users, not just the people who pay. Personalized AI just got buttons.
